Hi everyone, I’m a 20-year-old and I run a freelance business, earning a stable six-figure income. Currently, I don’t have any major financial responsibilities or dependencies, and I’m planning to buy my first personal car. I already know how to drive an automatic not a perfect driver I want to make a smart and informed decision. Right now, I’m considering buying a Honda Civic Reborn, with a budget of around 2.3 million PKR. However, I’m getting very mixed opinions from people around me. Many are saying that it’s not a good choice because: It has high fuel consumption (people call it a “petrol ka kuwa”) Maintenance is expensive It can become a headache if not maintained properly Even my father is advising me not to go for this car saying petrol prices dekho maintenance expensive ha and advising me to buy an alto But personally, I really like the Reborn. So before making a final decision, I’d really like honest advice from people who have owned or experienced this car: My questions: Is the Reborn a good choice for a first car in my situation? What is a realistic budget to get a clean, well-maintained unit in Karachi? What are the common problems or known faults in this model? Is the fuel average really that bad in real-world usage? How expensive is maintenance compared to other cars in this range? What things should I carefully inspect before buying (engine, suspension, gearbox, etc.)? Any tips to avoid getting a problematic or abused car? I would really appreciate your honest feedback, especially from owners. Father is right you are not a professional driver yet and dont have any links with mechanics too in this budget clean reborn is a bit difficult to find better to go for honda city 1.3 prosmetic 10 11 model then after a year or two switch to reborn as it is a Beautiful car. And yes reborn has issues more than city as an owners of reborn saying this.

I was in the same situation. I bought 2012 manual reborn and I am pretty happy with it. Mine gives 13-14 Km/L in city with 17 inch alloys. There is no cost other than the statndard oil change but this depends on the condition of the car.

If you buy automatic then fuel is an issue manual variant has a better fuel economy, in maintenance you need to spend money one time parts lasts longer have good quality. Drive wise it's very good

If you love the shape and want good fuel average go for hybrid one. It gives 14/16 KML avg and have more features and solid build quality compares to local civic Reborn.

Bhai ap pe responsibilities ni hen tu means apki travelling b kamm hogi tu ap reborn purchase kr k shoq pora kren try to find a manual one and be cautious about driving on congested roads better first use old 10,11 model mehran or alto for 1,2 months regularly be a man, become a good driver then purchase reborn or any other car of higher budget

My first car was suzuki swift 2013 then i bought a reborn 1.8 and kept it for a year. It was a well maintained car so apart from oil change i never had to do anything else because it also had electric steering installed. Usually steering power pump goes bad in these which costs around 10k new. On motorway it gave me even 18km/l but in congested city rides it usually gives 6km/l. I sold it but didn't want to go away from reborn so i bought a hybrid reborn. A little less power but more comfortable and features and fuel avg in city area around 14 and on long it can even go upto 27 to 30 but usually stays around 20km/l. I would suggest you go for a hybrid reborn, check its engine, cvt, and ima system if these are okay then anything else can be fixed.
