I have a hybrid car and the battery went flat. Thought it was under 8 years warranty but dealers said the standard one failed. Car is less than 3 years old. Anyone has idea why it failed?

The 12v battery died or the hybrid battery? 12v battery wouldn't be covered under warranty.

12v battery is a consumable. It normally dies in 2-3 years. And does not come in warranty when it dies once its operating life is finished

No different to any other car manufacturer. Original fitment 12v battery gets 6 months warranty at best. 8 year warranty applies only to the traction battery pack

It was specifically stated in the handbook that the 12v battery supplied in the new car, had a 12 month warranty only. A replacement battery has varying lengths of warranty depending on the price you are willing to pay.
