Deepal S05 1.5 REEV Max 2026 Fuel Average, Electric Range and Running Cost

What this car actually costs to run

On the battery170 km electric range, then the engine starts

A plug-in hybrid only beats an ordinary car on fuel if you actually plug it in. If you can charge at home overnight and your daily run is under 170 km, you may use almost no petrol at all. If you cannot, you are driving a heavy petrol car carrying a battery it never uses, and the figure in the middle is the one that will apply. Load-shedding and the lack of home charging make that the normal case in much of Pakistan, which is why this page leads with it.

Fuel average

We do not have measured fuel figures for this variant yet. Pakistan has no mandatory fuel-economy test and this car's maker publishes none, so the only honest source is owners — and we have not gathered enough of them for this version. Rather than print an estimate dressed as a measurement, this page shows what is verified: the specifications below.
A range-extended electric SUV: the wheels are always driven by the electric motor, and the 1,497cc petrol unit only generates current. 160 kW / 215 hp to the rear wheels, 27.28 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, 170 km on electricity alone and 1,000+ km combined. 2,880 mm wheelbase - Deepal claims the longest in its class - with independent multi-link rear suspension and 50:50 weight distribution. DC charging 30-80 per cent in 20 minutes.

Where these figures come from: A range extender: the 1,497cc petrol engine is a generator, not drive. Deepal quotes 170 km of pure-electric range on NEDC and 1,000+ km combined on a full battery and a full 44.9-litre tank, but publishes no consumption figure for running on the engine,

Verified fuel figures for this variant are not available yet.

The good & the bad

The good

  • ▲A range extender sidesteps the charging problem entirely - 170 km of electric range covers most daily use, and the engine removes any limit beyond that
  • ▲Rear-wheel drive with multi-link independent rear suspension and 50:50 weight distribution, which is a proper chassis layout at this price
  • ▲2,880 mm wheelbase gives genuine rear legroom
  • ▲Lithium iron phosphate battery - longer-lived and more heat-tolerant than ternary chemistries, which matters in this climate
  • ▲Level 2 ADAS, six airbags, 360 camera with transparent chassis and sentry mode as standard
  • ▲1.9 square metre panoramic glass roof, frameless doors, heated and ventilated front seats, zero-gravity co-pilot seat

The bad

  • ▼DEEPAL PUBLISHES NO FUEL CONSUMPTION FIGURE. On a range extender that is the number that decides running cost once the battery is flat, and there is no manufacturer figure to hold them to
  • ▼170 km of electric range is an NEDC figure, and NEDC flatters - expect less
  • ▼27.28 kWh is a small battery; drivers without home charging will run on the engine often, which is the expensive way to use this car
  • ▼DC charging peaks at 54.5 kW, well short of what newer EVs accept
  • ▼A range extender carries both an engine and a battery, so it is heavier and more complex than either a petrol SUV or a pure EV
  • ▼One variant only, so there is no cheaper way in
