About CarMania
CarMania publishes what a car in Pakistan actually costs to run: measured fuel averages, specifications, new-car prices and used-car advertisements — with every figure traceable to where it came from.
Why the site exists
The number on a manufacturer's brochure is produced in a laboratory, on a test cycle, by a driver who is not you. In Pakistan there is no mandatory fuel-economy test at all, so even that number is often simply absent. What a buyer actually wants to know — what this car gives in Lahore traffic in June, and what that costs at today's petrol price — is not something any brochure answers.
So the figures here are the ones owners report, and the cost per kilometre is worked out from the pump price published by OGRA on the day you are reading.
How we handle numbers
- Every figure is read from a named source. Where a manufacturer publishes a price, it is the manufacturer's. Where it does not, the page says so rather than guessing.
- Nothing is invented. If we cannot establish a price, the page says "Price not published" — which is a fact about this site, not a promise about next week.
- Owner-reported and projected figures are marked differently, because one is what people report and the other is an estimate from the same engine measured elsewhere.
- Photographs are the manufacturer's own or freely licensed, and where a licence asks for credit, the credit is on the page.
What is on the site
- Fuel average — km/l by city, highway and combined, with the cost per kilometre at today's petrol price.
- Best mileage — the same figures ranked, new cars and imports separately.
- New cars — prices, specifications and what is coming.
- Used cars — advertisements, each one a click from that model's running costs.
- International specs — how the same car is specified abroad, labelled by market and test cycle, because it is not the local car.
- Videos and owner questions.
Corrections
If a figure here is wrong, we would rather know. Tell us the page and what you believe the right number is, through the contact page. A corrected figure is worth more to this site than a flattering one.
