Our takeCarMania research desk

A genuinely serious piece of engineering at a price that will still make most people blink. The Ultra AWD does 0-100 in 3.9 seconds, which is quicker than anything else this site lists under PKR 3 crore, and the 800-volt architecture supporting 420 kW DC charging is the most advanced charging hardware in the Pakistani market - with the caveat that nothing remotely approaching 420 kW exists on the public network here, so you will be charging at home. The nine airbags matter more: AVATR fits rear side and front middle airbags that its own flagship 11 Royal Edition does without. Between the two, the Max RWD is the sensible buy - PKR 20 lacs less, 30 km more range, and the only thing you lose is three seconds to 100 km/h you will almost never use. The real caveat is not the car: AVATR publishes no warranty of any kind, and on a PKR 2 crore electric car that is the term to settle before anything else.

What to know about the Avatr 07

Avatr 07 2026 pros & cons

✓ What we like

  • Nine airbags on both variants, including rear side and front middle airbags that the far more expensive AVATR 11 Royal Edition does not have
  • The full driver-assistance package as standard - forward collision warning, rear collision warning, lane departure warning, blind spot detection and adaptive cruise with stop-and-go and obstacle avoidance
  • Lithium iron phosphate chemistry, which degrades more slowly than NCM and tolerates charging to 100 per cent routinely
  • 800-volt architecture with up to 420 kW DC charging - the most advanced charging hardware of any car sold in Pakistan
  • 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds from the Ultra AWD, quicker than anything else here under PKR 3 crore
  • A 35.4-inch 4K panoramic screen, 15.6-inch centre screen and a 25-speaker, 2,016-watt Meridian system
  • Dual zero-gravity front seats with 120-degree recline, NAPPA leather and 14-way electric adjustment
  • Battery pre-heating, vehicle-to-load and a front trunk

✕ What we don't like

  • AVATR publishes no warranty at all - not for the vehicle and not for the battery - which on a PKR 2 crore electric car is a serious gap
  • The 420 kW charging figure is academic in Pakistan, where no public charger comes close; plan on charging at home
  • Range is quoted on NEDC, the most flattering cycle - expect nearer 415 km from the Max and 390 from the Ultra in real Pakistani use
  • At 2,290 to 2,420 kg it is a heavy car, and the Ultra's 155 mm of ground clearance is low for Pakistani roads
  • The Ultra AWD's extra performance costs 30 km of range and PKR 20 lacs
  • 21-inch wheels on the Ultra are vulnerable and expensive to replace
  • AVATR is a new brand in Pakistan with a correspondingly thin service network and no resale history

Avatr 07 2026 overview

The AVATR 07 is the entry car for Changan's premium electric brand in Pakistan, and Master Changan Motors announced its prices on 3 October 2026. Two variants: the Max RWD at PKR 2,00,00,000 and the Ultra AWD at PKR 2,20,00,000, both bookable for PKR 40,00,000.

AVATR is a joint venture between Changan, CATL and Huawei, which is why the car arrives with a battery and an electronics package well beyond what Changan's own badge carries.

Both variants use an 82.16 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery on an 800-volt architecture. The Max RWD has a single 252 kW rear motor making 338 hp and 365 Nm, reaching 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds with 575 km of NEDC range. The Ultra AWD adds a 188 kW motor at the front for 440 kW - 590 hp - and 645 Nm, 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, and 545 km NEDC.

The body is 4,825 mm long, 1,980 wide and 1,620 tall on a 2,940 mm wheelbase, seating five, at 2,290 kg for the rear-drive car and 2,420 for the all-wheel-drive.

The cabin is the part that justifies the badge: a 35.4-inch 4K panoramic screen, a 15.6-inch 2K centre screen, dual 6.7-inch digital rearview displays, a 25-speaker Meridian 7.1.4 system rated at 2,016 watts, dual zero-gravity front seats with 120-degree recline, NAPPA leather and 14-way electric front seats with leg rests.

And nine airbags, which is three more than the AVATR 11 Royal Edition costing PKR 90 lacs more.

Engine and performance

Both variants share an 82.16 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery from CATL, on an 800-volt architecture. The Max RWD uses a single rear permanent-magnet synchronous motor producing 252 kW - 338 hp - and 365 Nm. It reaches 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds and 200 km/h, with 575 km of NEDC range and 166 mm of ground clearance at 2,290 kg. The Ultra AWD adds a 188 kW asynchronous AC motor at the front, for a combined 440 kW - 590 hp - and 645 Nm. It reaches 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. The extra motor and the 21-inch wheels cost range and clearance: 545 km NEDC, 155 mm, and 2,420 kg. The LFP chemistry is worth noting. It is less energy-dense than the ternary lithium pack in the AVATR 11, which is why the 07 carries 82 kWh where the 11 carries 117, but it degrades more slowly, is more thermally stable, and can be charged to 100 per cent as a matter of routine rather than occasionally. In a hot market with limited charging infrastructure, that is the better trade. Charging is 420 kW DC and 6.6 kW AC, with battery pre-heating. The 800-volt system is what allows the DC figure; the practical limit in Pakistan is whatever the charger in front of you can deliver. Brakes are ventilated discs at the front and solid discs at the rear with floating calipers. Drive modes are Eco, Comfort, Sport and Custom.

Fuel economy

An electric car has no fuel average, so the figures here are range and consumption. AVATR quotes 575 km for the Max RWD and 545 km for the Ultra AWD. Derived from the 82.16 kWh battery, that works out to about 14.3 and 15.1 kWh per 100 km - gross figures against total capacity, so real consumption will be higher. Every range figure AVATR quotes is NEDC - the oldest and most optimistic of the laboratory cycles, and not WLTP. This site calibrates NEDC and CLTC claims at about 72 per cent for Pakistani conditions, a figure taken from owner reports of the Chery Tiggo 8 PHEV, whose 90 km NEDC claim returns 60 to 70 km here. Applying that calibration puts the Max RWD nearer 415 km and the Ultra AWD nearer 390 km in Pakistani conditions, and less again in a Karachi or Lahore summer with the air conditioning running continuously. Motorway cruising at 120 km/h will reduce it further; electric cars lose range at sustained speed in a way combustion cars do not. Even at those adjusted numbers the 07 is a genuinely long-legged car, and the LFP battery means charging it to 100 per cent before a long run carries no penalty - which is not true of the nickel-based pack in the AVATR 11. Charging at home overnight is how this car is meant to be used. Pakistan's public fast-charging network remains thin outside Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, and that rather than the battery is the real constraint.

Avatr 07 safety

Nine airbags on both variants, and AVATR says so explicitly: "Standard 9 Airbags Across All Models - best in its class with rear side airbags and front distal airbags." Master Changan's specification sheet itemises them as front driver and passenger, front side driver and passenger, rear side left and right, side curtains, and a front middle airbag.

The front middle airbag sits between the driver and front passenger and is there to reduce head contact in a side impact. Rear side airbags for the outer rear passengers are rarer still at any price in Pakistan.

That is worth holding against the AVATR 11 Royal Edition, which is the brand's flagship at PKR 2,90,00,000 and whose own sheet lists six airbags - front, front side and curtains, with no rear side and no front middle airbag.

Also standard on both AVATR 07 variants: anti-lock brakes with brake assist, electronic brakeforce distribution, electronic stability program, dynamic brake function, an electronic parking brake, tyre-pressure monitoring and ISOFIX child seat anchors.

The driver-assistance list is complete rather than tiered: forward collision warning, rear collision warning, lane departure warning, blind spot detection, and adaptive cruise control with vehicle-following, stop-and-go and vertical obstacle avoidance - all on both variants.

The body carries a front impact beam with 81 per cent coverage at 4 mm thickness, and AVATR states the cabin is built to C-GCAP five-star standards. Pakistan has no NCAP programme, so the car sold here carries no independent local crash rating.

Avatr 07 FAQ

What is the price of the AVATR 07 in Pakistan?

The Max RWD is PKR 2,00,00,000 and the Ultra AWD is PKR 2,20,00,000. Master Changan Motors announced both on 3 October 2026, with a booking amount of PKR 40,00,000 for either.

How many airbags does the AVATR 07 have?

Nine, on both variants - front driver and passenger, front side, rear side left and right, side curtains, and a front middle airbag. That is three more than the AVATR 11 Royal Edition, which costs PKR 90 lacs more and lists six.

What is the range of the AVATR 07?

AVATR quotes 575 km for the Max RWD and 545 km for the Ultra AWD, both on the NEDC cycle. NEDC is the most optimistic laboratory test; in Pakistani conditions expect nearer 415 km and 390 km respectively.

How fast is the AVATR 07?

The Max RWD reaches 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds and the Ultra AWD in 3.9 seconds. Both are limited to 200 km/h. The Ultra is quicker than anything else on this site under PKR 3 crore.

Which AVATR 07 should I buy?

The Max RWD. It costs PKR 20 lacs less, goes 30 km further on a charge, has more ground clearance at 166 mm against 155, and runs smaller 20-inch wheels that will survive Pakistani roads better. What you give up is three seconds to 100 km/h.

What battery does the AVATR 07 use?

An 82.16 kWh lithium iron phosphate pack from CATL on an 800-volt architecture. LFP degrades more slowly than the nickel-based chemistry in the AVATR 11 and can be charged to 100 per cent routinely.

How fast does the AVATR 07 charge?

It supports up to 420 kW DC and 6.6 kW AC. The 420 kW figure is the highest of any car sold in Pakistan, but no public charger here comes close to delivering it, so plan on charging at home.

What is the warranty on an AVATR 07?

AVATR publishes none. The word "warranty" appears nowhere on avatr.com.pk or in either Master Changan specification sheet, for the vehicle or the battery. Get the terms in writing before paying the booking amount.

Who sells AVATR in Pakistan?

Master Changan Motors Limited. AVATR is a joint venture between Changan, the battery maker CATL and Huawei.

AVATR 07 or Hyundai IONIQ 5?

The IONIQ 5 is PKR 2,25,00,000 against the AVATR 07 Max's PKR 2,00,00,000, with 84 kWh and 500 km WLTP - a more conservative and more realistic cycle than the AVATR's NEDC. The AVATR has nine airbags to the Hyundai's six and far faster charging hardware; Hyundai publishes a four-year battery warranty where AVATR publishes none.
