The OMODA E5 is NexGen Auto's electric SUV, and the third OMODA nameplate on this site after the 7 and the 4.
It is a compact car by SUV standards - 4,424 mm long on a 2,630 mm wheelbase - with a single permanent-magnet motor on the front axle making 150 kW and 340 Nm, which is enough for 0-100 km/h in 7.6 seconds. The battery is 61 kWh of lithium iron phosphate.
OMODA quotes 430 km on the WLTP cycle and 505 km on NEDC. The WLTP figure is the more honest of the two and is what this site records.
DC charging on CCS2 takes it from 30 to 80 per cent in 28 minutes. One grade is offered, LUX, and it is a well-equipped one: twin 12.3-inch screens, a Sony eight-speaker system, a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats and a full ADAS suite are all standard, and the car carries a five-star Euro NCAP rating.
A single permanent-magnet synchronous motor driving the front wheels, producing 150 kW (204 hp) and 340 Nm through a reduction gear - no gearbox, because an electric motor does not need one. 0-100 km/h takes 7.6 seconds. Drive modes are Eco, Normal and Sport, and regenerative braking has three levels. The battery is 61 kWh and 165 Ah, of lithium iron phosphate. OMODA quotes two range figures from it: 430 km on WLTP and 505 km on NEDC (ADR 81/02). They measure the same car on different cycles, NEDC being the more lenient; the WLTP number is the one recorded here. The charge port sits in the front grille. On DC it is CCS2, 30 to 80 per cent in 28 minutes on an 80 kW charger. On AC it is Type 2, with a 6.6 kW single-phase or 9.9 kW three-phase onboard charger. NexGen notes that the trickle charger is not supplied with the car. Suspension is MacPherson strut at the front and multi-link at the rear; brakes are ventilated discs in front and solid discs behind, with an electronic parking brake and auto hold. Kerb weight is 1,710 kg. An electric car has no km/l, so this site shows battery capacity and quoted range with the cycle named instead. OMODA publishes no kWh/100km figure either, so none is shown.
