The bad
▼Ten dealerships nationwide, with expansion to 20 targeted only by 2027. Outside the major cities there is no authorised service, and no independent mechanic in Pakistan is equipped to diagnose a dedicated hybrid transmission or a traction battery
▼Local assembly is assembly, not sourcing. The transmission, the 18.3 kWh pack, the motors and the inverter are all imported from China, so the pipeline for every expensive component is still overseas
▼Resale is unproven - three months on sale, under a joint venture barely a year old, and Chery's earlier Pakistani presence does not provide a usable benchmark
▼Battery serviceability past warranty is an open question, with no cell-level repair capability locally and no published out-of-warranty pack price
▼Plug-in hybrids were deliberately left out of the September 2026 relief and still carry 25 percent sales tax, while the directly competing Corolla Cross HEV dropped to 18 and is now cheaper. That gap is policy, not marketing, and it persists unless the rules change
▼The Rs 5 lac reduction is a limited-period, limited-stock offer, not a settled list price. Buyers who paid Rs 99.99 lacs in July and August are already Rs 5 lacs underwater on a three-month-old car
