The cheapest Haval and one of the best-equipped cars at its price in Pakistan: a 12.3-inch screen with CarPlay, a head-up display, a panoramic sunroof, heated leather seats and a full L2 driver-assistance suite from PKR 77.96 lacs. The Kia Stonic at similar money has no driver assistance at all. The petrol car's weakness is fuel - owners record 10 km/l in the city, where the HEV manages 15 for PKR 13.2 lacs more, which is one of the faster-repaying hybrid premiums in this market.
▲A full L2 driver-assistance suite - adaptive cruise, lane keep, AEB with pedestrian and bicycle detection, blind spot detection, 360-degree camera - at a price where most Pakistani rivals offer nothing
▲The HEV returns about 15 km/l in the city against the petrol car's 10, one of the larger hybrid advantages in this market
▲12.3-inch screen with CarPlay and Android Auto, a head-up display, a panoramic sunroof and wireless charging as standard
▲Heated leather seats with six-way electric driver adjustment on a car starting at PKR 78 lacs
▲6-year or 150,000 km warranty, with 10 years on the engine
▲337 litres of boot space is competitive for a compact SUV
The bad
▼The petrol Jolion is thirsty for its size: owners report about 10 km/l in the city, where the HEV on the same body returns 15
▼At PKR 77.96 lacs it is not cheap in absolute terms - it is simply the cheapest Haval
▼Resale on Chinese compact SUVs in Pakistan is unproven over a full ownership cycle
▼L2 assistance depends on lane markings much of Pakistan's road network does not have
▼The petrol car's seven-speed dual-clutch is the usual concern in heavy stop-start traffic; the HEV avoids it with a dedicated hybrid transmission
▼No independent crash rating exists for the Pakistani build

Key points
Two versions: the 1.5T petrol from PKR 77,96,106 and the Jolion HEV at PKR 91,16,216.
The petrol makes 150 hp and 220 Nm; the HEV makes 190 hp and 375 Nm combined, with no plug.
Pakistani owners report about 10 km/l city from the petrol car and 15 from the HEV - half as much again.
L2 autonomous driving with adaptive cruise control, which almost nothing else at this price in Pakistan offers.
The brochure lists AEB with pedestrian and bicycle detection, lane keep assist, blind spot detection, a 360-degree camera and driver drowsiness detection.

Safety
What is known about this car's safety in Pakistan
GWM's brochure lists L2 autonomous driving for the Jolion, which means the car can manage steering and speed within its lane while the driver supervises. It is not self-driving and it depends on visible lane markings.
The supporting grid is long: dual SRS airbags, front side airbags, side curtain airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, brake assist, tyre-pressure monitoring and ISOFIX anchors. On driver assistance: adaptive cruise control, intelligent cruise assistance, traffic jam assistance, forward collision warning with autonomous emergency braking including pedestrian and bicycle detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lane centre keeping, blind spot detection with lane change assist, rear collision warning, door open warning, emergency lane keeping, driver drowsiness detection and a 360-degree camera.
That remains notable for the price. The Kia Stonic, which competes directly, offers no autonomous braking, no lane keeping and no adaptive cruise control on any trim.
Pakistan has no NCAP programme, so the locally assembled Jolion carries no independent crash rating. The Jolion scored five stars in ANCAP testing in 2022, but that was a different build for a different market and is not applied here.

What is the price of the Haval Jolion in Pakistan?
The petrol Jolion 1.5T starts at PKR 77,96,106 and the Jolion HEV is PKR 91,16,216, both ex-factory and excluding freight, registration and withholding tax.
What is the fuel average of the Haval Jolion?
Pakistani owners report about 10 km/l in the city and 13 on the highway from the petrol Jolion. The HEV on the same body returns about 15 and 18 - half as much again in town.
Should I buy the Jolion or the Jolion HEV?
It comes down to how much city driving you do. The HEV costs PKR 13.2 lacs more and returns about 15 km/l in town against the petrol car's 10. Over heavy daily city use that repays faster than most hybrid premiums in this market. It also avoids the petrol car's dual-clutch gearbox, which is the usual complaint in stop-start traffic.
Does the Haval Jolion have adaptive cruise control?
Yes. GWM lists L2 autonomous driving with adaptive cruise control on both Jolions, along with autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, blind spot detection and a 360-degree camera. Very little else at this price in Pakistan offers any of it.
How big is the Haval Jolion?
4,472 mm long, 1,841 mm wide and 1,574 mm tall on a 2,700 mm wheelbase, with a 337-litre boot. The HEV is 4,475 mm long and 1,619 mm tall.
Is the Haval Jolion bigger than the Kia Stonic?
Yes. The Jolion is a compact SUV at 4,472 mm; the Stonic is a smaller crossover on a supermini platform. They overlap on price in Pakistan but not on size, and the Jolion carries considerably more equipment - the Stonic has no driver assistance of any kind.
Does the Jolion HEV need charging?
No. It is a full hybrid, not a plug-in. The battery charges from the engine and from braking and the car drives exactly like an automatic.
What is the warranty on a Haval Jolion?
6 years or 150,000 km standard, 8 years or 160,000 km on the hybrid battery and motor controller, and 10 years or 1,000,000 km on the engine.
