Where these figures come from:
Pakistan has no mandatory fuel-economy test and Hyundai publishes no local consumption figure, so this is projected from owner-reported figures already held on this site for the same or a closely related engine, rather than presented as a certified number
The city and highway averages above are reported figures; the AC and speed
breakdown is estimated from them, not separately measured. Real-world mileage
varies with traffic, load, tyre pressure and fuel quality.

Read the airbag line on Hyundai's price list before you read anything else. The Elantra Hybrid costs PKR 107.61 lacs and has two airbags - no side, no curtain. For comparison, the Hyundai Sonata 2.5 at PKR 115.45 lacs has six, and the Kia Sportage L at PKR 121.99 lacs has six plus a complete driver-assistance package. The hybrid's economy is genuine and its equipment list is otherwise reasonable, but at that price the safety specification is hard to defend. The 1.6 Special Edition is a more honest proposition: it is the cheapest Hyundai car, it is priced accordingly, and nobody is pretending it is a luxury item - though its brochure gives the emission standard as Euro 2, which on a car launched in 2026 is worth knowing.
▲The 1.6 Special Edition at PKR 64.49 lacs is the cheapest way into a Hyundai car in Pakistan, and it is a full-size sedan rather than a small hatchback
▲The Hybrid returns around 17 km/l in city driving, which is exceptional for a sedan of this size and needs no charging
▲Both get a power sunroof, an 8-inch screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging and cruise control
▲The Hybrid adds heated and ventilated seats, dual-zone automatic climate control and a 10.25-inch digital cluster
▲Electronic stability control, traction control, hill-start assist and ISOFIX anchors on both
▲A 407-litre boot and a full-size spare wheel on the 1.6 Special Edition
The bad
▼Two airbags on both versions - driver and passenger only, with no side or curtain airbags at any price, including on the PKR 107.61 lac Hybrid
▼The 1.6 Special Edition's own brochure gives its emission standard as Euro 2, where the Palisade in the same showroom is Euro 6
▼The 1.6 Special Edition uses a hand parking brake rather than an electronic one
▼The PKR 43 lac gap between the two versions is very large for one nameplate
▼Neither has any driver-assistance equipment - no blind-spot monitor, no lane keeping, no adaptive cruise control
▼The Hybrid's dual-clutch gearbox is the usual concern in heavy stop-start traffic
▼No independent crash rating exists for the Pakistani cars

Key points
Two versions: the 1.6 Special Edition at PKR 64,49,000 and the Hybrid Blue at PKR 1,07,61,000.
Both have only two airbags - driver and passenger. No side or curtain airbags on either.
The 1.6 Special Edition's brochure gives its emission standard as Euro 2.
The petrol car makes 126 hp and 156 Nm from 1,591 cc through a six-speed automatic.
The Hybrid uses a 1.6 Smartstream GDi with a six-speed EcoShift dual-clutch.
Owners record about 17 km/l in town from the hybrid against roughly 12.5 from the petrol car.
4,620 mm long on a 2,700 mm wheelbase, with a 407-litre boot and a 50-litre tank.
The 1.6 Special Edition uses a hand parking brake; the Hybrid has an electronic one with auto hold.
The Hybrid's list price is PKR 1,14,00,000 before Hyundai's published discount.
This is the part of the Elantra that needs stating plainly.
Hyundai's own price list gives the Elantra 1.6 Special Edition "Dual SRS Airbags" and the Elantra Hybrid "2 SRS Airbags (Driver, Passenger)". Two airbags. There are no front side airbags and no side curtain airbags on either version, including the PKR 1,07,61,000 Hybrid.
For context inside the same showroom: the Sonata 2.5 at PKR 1,15,45,000 has six airbags, the Santa Fe at PKR 1,32,58,000 has six, and the Palisade has eight.
What the Elantra does have: anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control, traction control, hill-start assist and ISOFIX child seat anchors on both versions, plus front and rear parking sensors and a rear camera with dynamic parking guidelines. The Hybrid adds an electronic parking brake with auto hold.
Neither version has any driver-assistance equipment. There is no blind-spot monitor, no lane keeping assist, no forward collision avoidance and no adaptive cruise control on either Elantra.
Pakistan has no NCAP programme and no crash-testing facility, so the cars sold here carry no independent crash rating.

Two. Hyundai's own price lists give the 1.6 Special Edition "Dual SRS Airbags" and the Hybrid "2 SRS Airbags (Driver, Passenger)". Neither has side or curtain airbags.
What is the fuel average of the Hyundai Elantra?
Owners record about 17 km/l in the city and 20.5 on the highway from the Hybrid. The 1.6 petrol is projected at about 12.5 and 16.0 - a projection from the 2.0-litre Elantra's owner figures, not a measurement.
Is the Hyundai Elantra Hybrid worth PKR 43 lacs more than the petrol?
On fuel alone, no - that premium takes a very long time to repay. The hybrid is around 36 per cent more economical in town and considerably better equipped, with heated and ventilated seats, dual-zone climate and a digital cluster. But it has the same two airbags, so the step up buys economy and comfort rather than safety.
What engine does the Hyundai Elantra 1.6 Special Edition have?
A 1,591 cc DOHC 16-valve four with multi-point injection, making 94 kW (126 hp) at 6,300 rpm and 156 Nm at 4,850 rpm, through a six-speed automatic.
What is the emission standard of the Hyundai Elantra?
Hyundai's own brochure for the 1.6 Special Edition gives Euro 2. For comparison, the Palisade Hybrid sold in the same showroom is Euro 6.
Does the Hyundai Elantra Hybrid need charging?
No. It is a self-charging hybrid with no plug - the battery is charged by the engine and by braking.
How big is the boot in the Hyundai Elantra?
407 litres on the 1.6 Special Edition, which also carries a full-size spare wheel.
