Where these figures come from:
Pakistan has no mandatory fuel-economy test and Hyundai publishes no local consumption figure, so this is projected from owner-reported figures already held on this site for the same or a closely related engine, rather than presented as a certified number
The city and highway averages above are reported figures; the AC and speed
breakdown is estimated from them, not separately measured. Real-world mileage
varies with traffic, load, tyre pressure and fuel quality.

The PKR 12.15 lac step from the Sonata 2.0 to the 2.5 is the best value decision in Hyundai's Pakistani range, and it has almost nothing to do with the engine. Hyundai's own price list gives the 2.0 a "Dual SRS airbag" and the 2.5 "6 Airbags". Twelve lacs for four more airbags, a head-up display and a powered rear sunshade is a straightforward yes. Do not buy the 2.0. Further up, the N Line at PKR 165.21 lacs is the only fast Hyundai sold here and the only Sonata with driver assistance of any kind - adaptive cruise, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic warning, a surround-view camera - but it is PKR 50 lacs beyond the 2.5 and competing with cars from another class entirely.
The airbag count is the thing to check, and Hyundai prints it.
The Sonata 2.0 has a "Dual SRS airbag" - two. The Sonata 2.5 has "6 Airbags (Dual SRS airbags, Front Seat Side, Side curtain)". That is the single largest difference between them and it costs PKR 12.15 lacs.
For the Sonata N Line, Hyundai's list names four categories - driver, passenger, front side and curtain - without printing a number. The Santa Fe's list prints the identical four categories as "6 SRS Airbags", so six is the obvious reading, but it is a reading rather than a published figure and is not asserted here.
All three have anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control, traction control, hill-start assist, a rear view camera and front and rear parking sensors.
Driver assistance is N Line only. It carries what Hyundai describes as 20-plus Level 2 features: adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitor, blind-spot collision warning, rear cross-traffic collision warning, a surround-view camera, front, side and rear parking sensors, downhill brake control and ISOFIX anchors. The 2.0 and the 2.5 have none of it.
Pakistan has no NCAP programme, so none of these carries an independent local crash rating.

What is the price of the Hyundai Sonata in Pakistan?
The 2.0 MPi is PKR 1,03,30,000, the 2.5 Smartstream MPi is PKR 1,15,45,000 and the Sonata N Line is PKR 1,65,21,000. All ex-factory Faisalabad, excluding freight and insurance.
What is the difference between the Hyundai Sonata 2.0 and 2.5?
Airbags, mostly. Hyundai's price list gives the 2.0 a dual SRS airbag - two - and the 2.5 six. The 2.5 also adds a head-up display and a powered rear sunshade, and has a larger engine. Everything else is shared.
Which Hyundai Sonata should I buy?
The 2.5. PKR 12.15 lacs over the 2.0 buys four more airbags, a head-up display and a powered rear sunshade, which is a straightforward step up. The N Line is the better car by a distance but costs PKR 49.76 lacs more again.
How many airbags does the Hyundai Sonata have?
Two on the 2.0 and six on the 2.5, both printed on Hyundai's price list. For the N Line, Hyundai names four airbag categories - driver, passenger, front side and curtain - without printing a count.
What is the fuel average of the Hyundai Sonata?
Owners record about 10.5 km/l in the city and 13.5 on the highway from the 2.0. The 2.5 is projected at about 10.0 and 13.0, and the N Line at about 9.5 and 13.0. Only the 2.0's figures are owner-reported; the others are projections.
Is the Hyundai Sonata N Line fast?
It is the quickest Hyundai car sold in Pakistan - a 2.5-litre turbocharged T-GDi through an eight-speed wet dual-clutch, on 19-inch wheels, and the only turbocharged Hyundai car in the local range.
Does the Hyundai Sonata have adaptive cruise control?
Only the N Line. It carries 20-plus Level 2 driver-assistance features including adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic collision warning and a surround-view camera. The 2.0 and 2.5 have no driver assistance at all.
Is there a hybrid Hyundai Sonata in Pakistan?
No. Hyundai sells the Sonata only with naturally aspirated petrol engines and the turbocharged N Line. The Elantra, Tucson, Santa Fe and Palisade are all hybrids.
