Kia Sorento 1.6T FWD HEV 2025–2026 Fuel Average and Consumption

The Kia Sorento 1.6T FWD HEV fuel average in Pakistan is 12.6 km/l in the city and 15.6 km/l on the highway. Combined, that is about 13.8 km/l. On its 67-litre tank that is roughly 844 km of city driving between fills.

These are projected figures, not a Kia claim and not a Pakistani measurement — see where they come from below.

Fuel average by route and conditions

Cost per km is worked out at today's petrol price of Rs 392.76 per litre, as published by OGRA on 3 October 2026. Pakistan revises fuel prices daily, so this updates on its own.

Read the safety column before you read the price list. The Sorento's two all-wheel-drive variants are extremely well equipped - lane keeping, lane following, forward collision avoidance 2.0, blind-spot assist, rear cross-traffic assist, surround view, a head-up display, ventilated seats, twelve-speaker BOSE audio. The front-wheel-drive hybrid, PKR 26.5 lacs more expensive than the V6, has none of those, and fewer driver aids than the V6 it sits above. If your budget stops below the AWD hybrid, the honest comparison is the 3.5 V6 at PKR 136.49 lacs against the FWD hybrid at PKR 162.99 lacs: you pay PKR 26.5 lacs for roughly 60 per cent better city economy and give up reverse collision avoidance, the blind-spot view monitor and the 360-degree camera to get it. For a high-mileage driver the fuel case is real. For everyone else the V6 is the better-equipped car.

The good & the bad

The good

  • ▲Genuine seven-seat accommodation in a 4,815 mm body, with 1,996 litres of load space when the rear two rows are folded
  • ▲Four powertrains on one body, so the same car is available as a V6, a hybrid or a plug-in hybrid
  • ▲Both all-wheel-drive variants are comprehensively equipped: full driver assistance, a head-up display, ventilated and heated seats, third-row vents and twelve-speaker BOSE audio
  • ▲The plug-in hybrid offers 66 km of electric range and charges to 95 per cent in under three and a half hours on a 3.3 kW wallbox
  • ▲A full-size alloy spare on every variant, which the Sportage L does not get
  • ▲Six airbags, a panoramic sunroof and a dual 12.3-inch curved display across the range

The bad

  • ▼The FWD hybrid at PKR 162.99 lacs has less active safety than the 3.5 V6 at PKR 136.49 lacs - no lane keeping, no forward collision avoidance, no blind-spot assist, no surround-view monitor and no reverse collision avoidance
  • ▼The 3.5 V6 is thirsty: owners record about 7.5 km/l in the city
  • ▼The plug-in hybrid's tank drops to 47 litres from 67, which cuts petrol-only range considerably once the battery is flat
  • ▼The step from the FWD hybrid to the AWD hybrid is PKR 16 lacs, and it is the step that actually buys the safety equipment
  • ▼Ground clearance of 174 to 176 mm is modest for a vehicle of this size
  • ▼No independent crash rating exists for the Pakistani car

Safety

What is known about this car's safety in Pakistan
Every Sorento has six airbags, ABS, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, downhill brake control, hill-start assist, trailer stability assist, tyre-pressure monitoring and a rear occupant alert. That much is common.

The driver-assistance equipment is not, and the way Kia has divided it is the single most important thing on this page.

The two all-wheel-drive variants - the AWD hybrid and the PHEV - carry the full suite: lane keeping assist, lane following assist, forward collision avoidance assist 2.0, blind-spot collision avoidance assist, the blind-spot view monitor, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, safe exit assist, high beam assist, driver attention warning with lead vehicle departure alert, reverse collision avoidance assist, the surround-view monitor, smart cruise control and forward, side and reverse parking sensors.

The 3.5 V6 has reverse collision avoidance assist, the blind-spot view monitor, the surround-view monitor with a 360-degree camera, forward, side and reverse parking sensors and ordinary cruise control. It does not have lane keeping, lane following, forward collision avoidance or blind-spot collision avoidance.

The FWD hybrid has the least of the four. Kia's sheet marks it absent for reverse collision avoidance, lane keeping, lane following, forward collision avoidance, blind-spot collision avoidance, high beam assist, driver attention warning, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, safe exit assist, the blind-spot view monitor and the surround-view monitor. It has a rear-view camera, forward and reverse parking sensors and ordinary cruise control.

So the PKR 162.99 lac car has less active safety equipment than the PKR 136.49 lac car. That is Kia's own specification sheet, not an inference, and anyone choosing between those two should know it before they sign.

Pakistan has no NCAP programme, so none of these carries an independent local crash rating.

FAQ

What is the price of the Kia Sorento in Pakistan?

Four variants: the 3.5 FWD V6 at PKR 1,36,49,000, the 1.6T FWD HEV at PKR 1,62,99,000, the 1.6T AWD HEV at PKR 1,78,99,000 and the 1.6T AWD PHEV at PKR 1,89,99,000. All ex-factory, excluding freight, registration and withholding tax.

Which Kia Sorento has the best safety equipment?

The two all-wheel-drive variants - the AWD hybrid and the PHEV. Both carry lane keeping, lane following, forward collision avoidance 2.0, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, the blind-spot view monitor, the surround-view monitor, safe exit assist and smart cruise control. The front-wheel-drive hybrid has none of those, and fewer driver aids than the cheaper 3.5 V6.

Is the Kia Sorento FWD hybrid worth PKR 26 lacs more than the 3.5 V6?

Only on fuel. The hybrid returns roughly 12.6 km/l in the city against the V6's 7.5, which over high annual mileage is a real saving. But Kia's own specification sheet gives the FWD hybrid less active safety than the V6 - it loses reverse collision avoidance, the blind-spot view monitor and the 360-degree camera and gains no driver assistance in return. If you want both economy and equipment, the AWD hybrid at PKR 1,78,99,000 is the variant that has them.

What is the fuel average of the Kia Sorento?

About 7.5 km/l in the city and 10.0 on the highway for the 3.5 V6; about 12.6 and 15.6 for the FWD hybrid; about 12.0 and 14.8 for the AWD hybrid. The plug-in hybrid uses almost no petrol if charged nightly, and returns about 11.5 km/l in the city once the battery is flat.

How far does the Kia Sorento PHEV go on electric power?

66 km on Kia's figure, from a 13.8 kWh battery. A 3.3 kW wallbox takes it from 15 to 95 per cent in 3 hours 25 minutes. Expect less than 66 km in practice with air conditioning and Pakistani traffic.

Does the Kia Sorento have seven seats?

Yes, three rows and seven seats on all four variants, with 1,996 litres of load space when the second and third rows are folded flat.

What is the difference between the Sorento HEV and PHEV?

The PHEV has a 13.8 kWh battery you plug in, against the hybrid's 1.49 kWh pack that charges itself, and 66 km of electric range the hybrid does not have. It makes 249 hp to the hybrid's 238, is all-wheel drive only, and carries a 47-litre tank rather than 67. It costs PKR 11 lacs more than the AWD hybrid.

How big is the Kia Sorento?

4,815 mm long, 1,900 mm wide and 1,700 mm tall on a 2,815 mm wheelbase, with 174 to 176 mm of ground clearance depending on variant.

Does the Kia Sorento have a full-size spare wheel?

Yes, a full-size alloy spare on all four variants.

What is the warranty on a Kia Sorento?

4 years or 100,000 km, whichever comes first, with 8 years or 160,000 km on the high-voltage battery of the hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants.
