The HR-V is Honda Atlas's compact crossover, assembled locally at Manga Mandi, Lahore. Bookings opened on 22 October 2022 and the car launched in January 2023 at Rs 59.99 lacs for the VTi and Rs 61.99 lacs for the VTi-S. This is the current third-generation car, so Pakistan is on the global generation rather than a superseded one.
The HR-V gave Honda Atlas its first real entry into Pakistan's fast-growing compact crossover segment. It competes most directly with the Toyota Corolla Cross, and more loosely with the Kia Sportage, Changan Oshan X7, Haval Jolion and MG HS - most of which are larger or offer seven seats for similar money.
The significant local development came on 28 July 2025 with the HR-V e:HEV, Honda's first locally assembled hybrid in Pakistan and its answer to the Corolla Cross Hybrid.
Since then the HR-V has been the Honda most exposed to Pakistan's hybrid tax volatility. Its hybrid price has swung by over Rs 13 lacs in a single year on tax policy alone, and it is the only Honda affected by the 13 September 2026 GST change.
Two powertrains, both 1498 cc and both front-wheel drive. The petrol VTi and VTi-S use a naturally aspirated DOHC i-VTEC four producing about 119 hp at 6600 rpm and 145 Nm at 4300 rpm through a CVT. The e:HEV uses a 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle engine with Honda's dual-motor hybrid system and a roughly 1.1 kWh lithium-ion battery, driving through a fixed-gear arrangement with regenerative braking and running in three modes - electric drive at moderate speeds, hybrid drive with the engine as a generator, and direct engine drive on the motorway.
The VTi returns about 13 km/l city and 15 km/l highway, and the VTi-S slightly less at around 12 and 13. The e:HEV is the outlier at roughly 23 km/l in the city and 17 on the highway - the unusual case of a car that does better in town than on the motorway, which is exactly how the e:HEV system works. Independent testing recorded about 22.5 km/l city and 16.5 highway for the hybrid, corroborating those figures closely. The tank holds 40 litres.
