The Honda City sold new in Pakistan is assembled by Honda Atlas Cars (Pakistan) Limited at its plant in Manga Mandi, Lahore. The current car arrived in July 2021, replacing the 2009-vintage model that had run for twelve years. Despite being new to Pakistan in 2021, it is the sixth-generation GM-series City, which debuted globally in Thailand in April 2014 and had already been replaced internationally by the seventh-generation GN in November 2019.
The City is the commercial backbone of Honda Atlas. The company disclosed in July 2026 that it accounts for roughly 70 percent of its total domestic sales. It competes in the B-segment sedan class against the Toyota Yaris and the Changan Alsvin, and at its upper trims brushes against the entry-level Corolla.
Pricing is shaped by tax policy more than by cost. Honda has said it deliberately holds the entry 1.2-litre car near Rs 49 lacs so it stays under the Rs 50 lac invoice threshold, above which general sales tax rises from 18 to 25 percent. That is why there is a large step between the 1.2 and 1.5 trims.
In September 2025 Honda added the Aspire S, the first substantive update in about five years. It is cosmetic and equipment-led - LED lighting, black exterior trim, better seat fabric, a leather steering wheel - with no mechanical change at all.
Two naturally aspirated SOHC i-VTEC four-cylinder petrol engines. The 1.2-litre (1199 cc) produces about 88 hp and 110 Nm and powers the entry variants; the 1.5-litre (1497 cc) produces about 118 hp and 145 Nm and powers the Aspire and Aspire S. Both offer a five-speed manual at the lower end, with a CVT on the mainstream variants. All are front-wheel drive with ventilated front discs and rear drums. There is no turbocharged and no hybrid City in Pakistan, unlike the regional car which has both.
Owner-reported figures run roughly 10 to 16 km/l depending on engine, transmission and conditions. The 1.5 Aspire CVT is the best of the range at about 14 km/l city and 16 km/l highway; the 1.2 CVT is the worst at around 10 km/l in the city, below the larger 1.5. With a 40 to 42 litre tank that gives a practical range of roughly 480 to 640 km. Heavy city traffic with the air conditioning running pulls figures into the low teens or below.
