Suzuki Fronx GLX 6AT Mono-Tone1500 cc, 6-speed automaticPromotional from 13 Sep 2026 - down Rs 3.75 lacs. Pak Suzuki calls it promotional rather than a permanent cut.
Six airbags plus ESP standard on every variant - a genuine step change for a locally assembled Suzuki, where three or fewer had been normal
Pak Suzuki's dealer, workshop and parts network is the densest in Pakistan and reaches small cities
Locally assembled CKD, so supply is not gated by import quotas and parts pricing is less exposed to exchange-rate shocks
Compact at 3,995 mm with 170 mm of ground clearance - easy to place in city traffic while clearing broken road edges
An ADAS variant with autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep and blind-spot monitoring is rare at this price in Pakistan
The GLX mild-hybrid 6AT is genuinely economical, and the ISG helps most in exactly the stop-start conditions Pakistani buyers face
✕ What we don't like
Poor value against the global equivalent - the same car is a budget crossover in India, and Pakistani duties put it near luxury money
The GL variants are weakly equipped for the price: a 7-inch screen, four speakers, an obsolete 4-speed automatic, no cruise control and no push-start
Hard plastics, fabric seats and fabric door trims on every single trim, with no leather option and single-zone climate only
The GL cars use the older K15B engine, not the newer K15C DualJet fitted to the GLX - the cheapest buyers get the less refined unit
The hybrid is a 12V mild hybrid, not a strong hybrid. It cannot run on electricity, and the marketing weight on the word overstates it
The Fronx received a 1-star ANCAP rating in Australia on a differently specified Indian-built car. That is not a test of the Pakistani CKD car, but there is no local result to set against it
A 37-litre tank and rear-only parking sensors on every variant
Suzuki Fronx 2026 overview
The Suzuki Fronx is a five-seat subcompact crossover assembled locally by Pak Suzuki Motor Company in Karachi. It launched on 6 May 2026 and is Pak Suzuki's first CKD crossover - the company had until then built only hatchbacks and small sedans locally. Pakistan became the third country after India and Indonesia to become a Fronx production base.
Globally the Fronx is a Maruti Suzuki model first shown in India in January 2023, built on Suzuki's HEARTECT platform and closely related to the Baleno hatchback. It is not a body-on-frame SUV; it is a raised hatchback-derived crossover with 170 mm of ground clearance. Pakistan does not get the 1.0 Boosterjet turbo triple that India offers - only 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol units.
In the local market the Fronx sits in the roughly Rs 60 to 69 lac compact-crossover bracket, against the Kia Stonic, Chery Tiggo 4 Pro and various Changan, Haval and Jaecoo crossovers. It sits above Pak Suzuki's own Swift and below anything Toyota or Honda offer in an SUV body.
Its commercial case rests mainly on Pak Suzuki's very large dealer and parts network and on the mild-hybrid variants' economy, rather than on outright equipment or performance. Note that the GLX hybrid is a 12V mild hybrid - it cannot drive on electric power alone.
Latest updates
Launched 6 May 2026 in four variants; GLX 6AT Hybrid ADAS trims in mono- and two-tone have since been added, taking the range to six.
The 13 September 2026 GST cut applied directly. Pak Suzuki passed it on, dropping the GLX 6AT Hybrid by Rs 3 lacs to a promotional Rs 63.99 lacs.
Pak Suzuki describes the hybrid pricing as a limited-period promotion rather than a permanent cut, and prices apply at invoicing.
Hybrid prices had risen in July 2026 after the concessional hybrid sales-tax rates expired on 30 June and HEVs reverted to 25 percent GST.
Safety kit is unusually strong for a Pak Suzuki - six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP and hill-hold standard across the whole range, plus ISOFIX.
The ADAS variant adds autonomous emergency braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, head-up display and an around-view monitor.
Engine and performance
Two 1,462 cc naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engines. The GL manual and GL automatic use the older K15B at roughly 103 hp and 138 Nm, with a five-speed manual or a four-speed torque-converter automatic. The GLX variants use the newer K15C DualJet with Suzuki's 12V SHVS mild-hybrid integrated starter-generator at roughly 99 hp and 135 Nm, paired to a six-speed torque-converter automatic with paddle shifters. All variants are front-wheel drive. There is no AWD, no 1.0 Boosterjet turbo and no strong hybrid in Pakistan.
Fuel economy
The Fronx has only been on sale in Pakistan since May 2026, so there is no mature owner fuel-average dataset yet and the figures circulating are manufacturer or estimate-derived rather than aggregated owner reports. On that basis the non-hybrid GL variants are expected around 12 to 14 km/l in the city and 16 to 18 on the highway, while the GLX mild hybrid is quoted at 18 to 22 km/l with early owner talk clustering near 19 to 20. Treat all of these as provisional. The 37-litre tank means even a good average gives a modest real-world range.
