Where these figures come from:
Pakistan has no mandatory fuel-economy test and the maker publishes no local figure, so this is projected from owner-reported figures already held on this site for the same hybrid powertrain in Pakistani conditions, rather than from a laboratory result me

▲Genuinely current-generation product - the facelifted Sportage with dual 12.3-inch curved displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a 360-degree camera, not an old global model kept alive for Pakistan
▲The 8-year or 160,000 km battery warranty directly addresses the biggest Pakistani anxiety about hybrids
▲Real fuel economy from a large SUV at roughly 15 to 16 km/l, dramatically better than any comparably sized non-hybrid available locally
▲A genuine AWD hybrid with terrain modes for snow, mud and sand - rare at this price in Pakistan and useful for northern-areas driving
▲Extensive driver-assistance content including smart cruise control and collision avoidance, at a price where local rivals often offer none
▲Lucky Motor's network is one of the better developed among the newer entrants, with an existing Sportage parts pipeline since 2019
The bad
▼Kia passed on none of the 13 September 2026 GST cut. Where Hyundai's Tucson Hybrid fell Rs 7.24 lacs, the Sportage L did not move at all, and the comparison narrowed sharply in Hyundai's favour overnight
▼The hybrid-only restructuring removed every affordable entry point. The Alpha at Rs 78.99 lacs is gone and the cheapest Sportage L now costs Rs 1.22 crore
▼Price volatility has been severe and buyer-hostile - down up to Rs 18.5 lacs in June 2026, up Rs 9 to 10.6 lacs in August, then no movement after the September tax cut
▼Touch-sensitive climate and media controls are a recurring owner complaint and an ergonomic regression from physical switchgear, harder to use on poor road surfaces
▼Kia's service network is far thinner than Toyota's or Suzuki's outside Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, and for a hybrid that gap matters more
▼Weaker resale than an equivalent Toyota, and the used market has not yet built confidence in used hybrids
▼Owner reports include electrical and starting faults, with hybrid diagnosis capability concentrated in larger city dealerships
▼Long-term battery replacement cost outside warranty is genuinely unknown in Pakistan
