Proton X70 2026 overview
The Proton X70 is the car Al-Haj Automotive launched the Proton brand in Pakistan with, ahead of the Saga, and it is assembled at Al-Haj's plant in Karachi. It is a five-seat SUV sitting against the Chinese crossovers that now dominate this part of the market.
Underneath it is Geely's work - Proton has been Geely-controlled since 2017, and the X70 is the Malaysian version of that partnership. Proton markets the engine as the i-GT 1.5TD, a turbocharged direct-injection petrol unit the company rates at 181 PS and 290 Nm, driving through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox with a manual mode.
Two versions are sold here, and their pricing is the first thing worth understanding: the Executive is all-wheel drive and the Premium is front-wheel drive, yet the Premium is the dearer car. Proton Pakistan lists them that way. The money buys equipment, not traction.
