BYD Shark 6 Premium 2025 Model Fuel Average, Electric Range and Running Cost

The BYD Shark 6 Premium fuel average in Pakistan is 8.5 km/l in the city and 10.5 km/l on the highway once the battery is flat. Combined, that is about 9.3 km/l. On its 60-litre tank that is roughly 510 km of city driving between fills.

These are projected figures, not a Kia claim and not a Pakistani measurement — see where they come from below.

What this car actually costs to run

Once the battery is flat 8.5 km/l petrol only — the figure most owners here will live with
Maker's official figure 50 km/l assumes you start every trip fully charged

Those two numbers describe the same car. The difference between 50 and 8.5 km/l is not the engine — it is whether the battery was charged before you set off. A plug-in hybrid only beats an ordinary car on fuel if you actually plug it in. If you can charge at home overnight and your daily run is under its electric range, you may use almost no petrol at all. If you cannot, you are driving a heavy petrol car carrying a battery it never uses, and the figure in the middle is the one that will apply. Load-shedding and the lack of home charging make that the normal case in much of Pakistan, which is why this page leads with it.

Petrol consumption by route, with the battery flat

Cost per km is worked out at today's petrol price of Rs 392.76 per litre, as published by OGRA on 3 October 2026. Pakistan revises fuel prices daily, so this updates on its own.

Route Average Cost / km
City 8.5 kmpl Rs 46.2
Long 10.5 kmpl Rs 37.4
City with AC 8.2 kmpl Rs 47.9
Long with AC 10.2 kmpl Rs 38.5
City with heavy foot 7.6 kmpl Rs 51.7
Long with heavy foot 7.8 kmpl Rs 50.4
Long on 100 km/h 11.3 kmpl Rs 34.8
Long on 120 km/h 9.7 kmpl Rs 40.5
Long above 120 km/h 8.4 kmpl Rs 46.8

Where these figures come from: This is the charge-sustaining figure: what the car drinks once the battery is flat and the engine is doing the work. It is the number most Pakistani owners will live with, because reliable home charging is not the norm here. BYD quotes 7.9 l/100 km once t

The BYD Shark 6 mileage is 6.8 to 11.3 kmpl in Pakistan, depending on driving style, AC use, and speed. Combined average is 9.3 kmpl.

The good & the bad

The good

  • ▲321 kW (431 hp) and 650 Nm make it comfortably the most powerful pickup ever sold new in Pakistan, with a 5.7-second 0 to 100 km/h no diesel double-cab can approach
  • ▲About 100 km of pure electric range means most urban use happens on electricity, and the 60-litre tank plus engine gives a claimed 800 km combined - no range anxiety at all
  • ▲The dual-motor electronic all-wheel-drive system delivers instant torque at each axle without a transfer case, and 230 mm of unladen ground clearance is genuinely useful on Pakistani roads
  • ▲Interior equipment is far beyond anything in the local pickup class - 25-inch digital cluster, 12-speaker audio, wireless smartphone mirroring, autonomous emergency braking
  • ▲Vehicle-to-Load turns it into a mobile generator, which has obvious value during load-shedding and on site
  • ▲The Blade LFP battery suits sustained heat, and the petrol engine removes dependence on a charging network that barely exists

The bad

  • ▼Rs 1.99 crore buys a pickup with no low range, no mechanical transfer case and a 2,710 kg kerb weight. Buyers expecting Hilux-style workhorse capability are buying the wrong vehicle
  • ▼Payload and towing ratings for the Pakistani specification are not published by the distributor, which is an extraordinary gap for a vehicle sold as a pickup
  • ▼Imported at the top of BYD's local range, with a complex drivetrain - two motors, a turbo petrol engine and a high-voltage pack - that has far more to go wrong than a diesel Hilux, and none of the roadside-mechanic fallback a Hilux has anywhere in the country
  • ▼Service is three cities only. A pickup is precisely the vehicle people take to places with no dealer, and nobody outside those cities can service this drivetrain
  • ▼Resale is completely unproven at this price point. Pakistan's used pickup market is built on Toyota diesel residuals, and there is no evidence it will absorb a Chinese plug-in hybrid at this money
  • ▼Excluded from the September 2026 relief on both counts - plug-in and imported - so it carries 25 percent sales tax while locally assembled hybrids dropped to 18
  • ▼Long-term battery serviceability is untested, and a 29.58 kWh pack integrated into a pickup's structure is not something any Pakistani workshop is equipped to repair
