Kia Sportage L 2.0 Automatic 2026 Model Fuel Average and Consumption

The Kia Sportage L 2.0 fuel average in Pakistan is 9.5 km/l in the city and 12.5 km/l on the highway. Combined, that is about 10.7 km/l. On its 54-litre tank that is roughly 513 km of city driving between fills.

Pakistan has no mandatory fuel-economy test, so this is what owners report rather than a certified figure.

Fuel average by route and conditions

Cost per km is worked out at today's petrol price of Rs 392.76 per litre, as published by OGRA on 3 October 2026. Pakistan revises fuel prices daily, so this updates on its own.

Route Average Cost / km
City 9.5 kmpl Rs 41.3
Long 12.5 kmpl Rs 31.4
City with AC 9.3 kmpl Rs 42.2
Long with AC 12.1 kmpl Rs 32.4
City with heavy foot 8.6 kmpl Rs 45.9
Long with heavy foot 9.8 kmpl Rs 40.2
Long on 100 km/h 13.1 kmpl Rs 29.9
Long on 120 km/h 11.5 kmpl Rs 34.2
Long above 120 km/h 10.6 kmpl Rs 37.1

The city and highway averages above are reported figures; the AC and speed breakdown is estimated from them, not separately measured. Real-world mileage varies with traffic, load, tyre pressure and fuel quality.

Based on 9.5 km/l city driving. Pakistan has no mandatory fuel-economy testing, so treat this as a guide, not a certified figure.

The Kia Sportage L mileage is 7.8 to 13.1 kmpl in Pakistan, depending on driving style, AC use, and speed. Combined average is 10.7 kmpl.

Our takeCarMania research desk

Kia's most interesting decision here was not to cheapen the entry car. The front-drive Sportage L at PKR 121.99 lacs has the same engine, the same gearbox, the same six airbags and - unusually - the same complete driver-assistance package as the PKR 133 lac all-wheel-drive version. What the extra PKR 11.1 lacs buys is traction and comfort: terrain modes, ventilated and heated seats, memory, a heated wheel, a powered tailgate and Harman Kardon audio. None of it is safety. If you do not need all-wheel drive, the cheaper car is not the compromised one, and that is rarer in Pakistan than it should be. Set against it: there is no petrol option at all, so the hybrid premium is not optional, and the spare wheel is a steel donut rather than a full-size alloy.

The good & the bad

The good

  • ▲The complete driver-assistance package - lane keeping, lane following, forward collision avoidance with pedestrian, cyclist and junction detection, blind-spot assist, rear cross-traffic assist and the surround-view monitor - comes on the cheaper variant too, which is not how this market usually works
  • ▲A hybrid that needs no charging and no change of habit, returning around 13.5 km/l in the city where a comparable petrol SUV manages 9 to 10
  • ▲235 hp and 368 Nm combined is strong for the class, and the six-speed torque-converter automatic avoids the dual-clutch hesitation that dogs several rivals in traffic
  • ▲586 litres of boot space, opening to 1,872 litres
  • ▲A dual 12.3-inch curved display, panoramic sunroof and 64-colour ambient lighting on both variants
  • ▲Six airbags, electronic parking brake with auto hold and tyre-pressure monitoring as standard

The bad

  • ▼There is no petrol Sportage L in Pakistan, so you cannot opt out of the hybrid premium - the entry price is PKR 121.99 lacs
  • ▼The spare wheel is a steel donut, which on a car of this price and weight is mean
  • ▼Ground clearance of 181 mm is adequate rather than generous for the way the all-wheel-drive version is marketed
  • ▼The PKR 11.1 lac step to all-wheel drive buys comfort and traction but no additional safety equipment, which makes it hard to justify unless you genuinely need the traction
  • ▼No independent crash rating exists for the Pakistani car, because Pakistan has no testing programme
  • ▼Kia publishes no local fuel-economy figure, so the economy numbers here are owner-derived rather than certified

Key points

  • Sold in Pakistan as a hybrid only - there is no petrol Sportage L.
  • Two variants: FWD HEV at PKR 1,21,99,000 and AWD HEV at PKR 1,32,99,000.
  • Combined 235 hp and 368 Nm from a 1.6 T-GDI and a 64 hp motor, through a six-speed automatic.
  • 1.49 kWh, 270-volt lithium-ion battery. No plug, nothing to charge.
  • The full driver-assistance suite is on BOTH variants, not reserved for the top trim.
  • Six airbags on both; a dual 12.3-inch curved display and panoramic sunroof on both.
  • AWD adds terrain modes, ventilated and heated seats, memory, a heated wheel, a powered tailgate and Harman Kardon audio.
  • 4,685 mm long on a 2,755 mm wheelbase, 181 mm of clearance, a 586-litre boot and a 52-litre tank.
  • The spare is a steel donut, not a full-size alloy.

Safety

What is known about this car's safety in Pakistan
The notable thing about the Sportage L's safety equipment is that Kia did not divide it by trim. Both the front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive hybrids carry the same list.

Six airbags - front, side and curtain. ABS, electronic stability control, downhill brake control, hill-start assist and trailer stability assist. An electronic parking brake with auto hold, and tyre-pressure monitoring.

On driver assistance: lane keeping assist, lane following assist, forward collision avoidance assist covering cars, pedestrians, cyclists and junction turning, blind-spot collision avoidance assist, the blind-spot view monitor, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, safe exit warning, high beam assist, driver attention warning with lead vehicle departure alert, manual speed limit assist, smart cruise control, the surround-view monitor, and parking distance warning with parking collision avoidance.

That is a complete package by the standards of this market, and it is worth saying plainly that the cheaper car does not go without any of it.

Pakistan has no NCAP programme and no crash-testing facility, so the car sold here carries no independent crash rating. Ratings awarded to Sportages built elsewhere are not applied to it.

FAQ

What is the price of the Kia Sportage L in Pakistan?

The front-wheel-drive hybrid is PKR 1,21,99,000 and the all-wheel-drive hybrid is PKR 1,32,99,000. Both are ex-factory and exclude freight, registration and withholding tax.

How many variants of the Kia Sportage L are there?

Two: FWD HEV and AWD HEV. Both are hybrids. Kia does not sell a petrol Sportage L in Pakistan. Prices you may see listed around PKR 79 to 113 lacs under the Sportage name belong to the outgoing fourth-generation car, not to the all-new Sportage L.

Is the Kia Sportage L a hybrid?

Yes, and only a hybrid. A 1.6 T-GDI petrol engine works with a 64 hp electric motor for a combined 235 hp and 368 Nm. It is a self-charging hybrid - there is no plug and nothing to charge.

What is the fuel average of the Kia Sportage L?

Owners of this powertrain record about 13.5 km/l in the city and 16.5 on the highway in the front-drive car, and about 12.8 and 15.7 in the all-wheel-drive version. Kia publishes no local figure, so these are owner-derived rather than certified.

What is the difference between the FWD and AWD Sportage L?

Mechanically, only the drivetrain - the engine, gearbox, battery and all six airbags are identical. The AWD adds Snow, Mud and Sand terrain modes, ventilated and heated front seats, a driver memory seat, a heated steering wheel, a smart power tailgate with memory and Harman Kardon audio. Critically, it adds no safety equipment: the full driver-assistance suite is on both cars.

Which Kia Sportage L should I buy?

Unless you specifically need all-wheel drive, the front-wheel-drive car. It has the same powertrain, the same airbags and the same complete driver-assistance package for PKR 11.1 lacs less. The AWD premium buys traction and comfort features, not safety.

Does the Kia Sportage L have adaptive cruise control and lane keeping?

Yes, on both variants. Kia's specification sheet lists smart cruise control, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, forward collision avoidance with pedestrian, cyclist and junction detection, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, the blind-spot view monitor and the surround-view monitor on the front-drive car as well as the all-wheel-drive one.

How big is the boot in the Kia Sportage L?

586 litres with the rear seats up, and 1,872 litres with them folded.

Does the Kia Sportage L have a full-size spare wheel?

No. Kia's specification sheet lists a steel donut spare on both variants.

What is the warranty on a Kia Sportage L?

Kia Pakistan publishes 4 years or 100,000 km, whichever comes first, with 8 years or 160,000 km on the high-voltage battery.
