Where these figures come from:
Pakistan has no mandatory fuel-economy test and Toyota publishes no local consumption figure, so this is projected from owner-reported figures already held on this site for the same engine and gearbox, rather than presented as a certified number. The 4x2
The city and highway averages above are reported figures; the AC and speed
breakdown is estimated from them, not separately measured. Real-world mileage
varies with traffic, load, tyre pressure and fuel quality.

Combined average is 8.5 kmpl.
A proper ladder-frame SUV with 279 mm of clearance, which in Pakistan is a practical argument rather than a styling one. The question is which rung. The G is two-wheel drive, so if you are buying a Fortuner for the reason most people buy one, it is the wrong variant. The V at PKR 1,49,35,000 is the cheapest four-wheel-drive Fortuner and PKR 36 lacs below the diesel Sigma 4 - and being petrol, it sidesteps diesel availability and injector servicing entirely, at the cost of economy. The diesels are better to drive and better on fuel. The GR-S at PKR 2,04,99,000 is the only Fortuner with a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert and a panoramic view monitor, which is a lot of money for driver assistance the rest of the range should arguably have.

The good & the bad
The good
▲279 mm of ground clearance and a body-on-frame chassis, which is what the Fortuner is actually for
▲Seven seats and 716 litres of load space in every variant
▲Four of the five variants are four-wheel drive, with a low-cost petrol 4x4 in the V
▲An 80-litre tank gives genuine long-distance range
▲The 2.8 diesel is strong, economical for the size and well proven in this chassis
▲Toyota's dealer and parts network, which matters more on a vehicle used outside cities
▲The GR-S adds a panoramic view monitor, blind spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert, plus monotube dampers
The bad
▼Only the GR-S, at PKR 2,04,99,000, has any driver-assistance equipment - the other four have none
▼The G at PKR 1,24,35,000 is two-wheel drive, which undercuts the main reason to buy a Fortuner
▼The 2.7 petrol is thirsty: owners record about 8.0 km/l in the city, and the 4x4 V less again
▼PKR 36 lacs separates the petrol V from the diesel Sigma 4
▼A ladder-frame SUV rides and handles accordingly, and the Corolla Cross is far more civilised on tarmac
▼The GR-S is restricted to black and white
▼No independent crash rating exists for the vehicle sold here

Key points
Five variants from PKR 1,24,35,000 to PKR 2,04,99,000.
The G is two-wheel drive; the other four are 4x4.
The V at PKR 1,49,35,000 is the cheapest 4x4 and the only one that is not a diesel.
2.7 petrol (2TR-FE, 2,694 cc) or 2.8 turbo diesel (1GD-FTV, 2,755 cc), six-speed automatic throughout.
Seven seats, an 80-litre tank and 716 litres of load space on every variant.
279 mm of ground clearance - the most of any Toyota car or SUV sold here.
Only the GR-S has a blind spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert and panoramic view monitor.
Every Fortuner has hill-start assist, traction control, anti-lock braking and vehicle stability control.
Driver assistance is a different matter, and it is almost entirely reserved for one variant. The GR-S at PKR 2,04,99,000 carries a panoramic view monitor, a blind spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert. The G, V, Sigma 4 and Legender have none of those.
That is a PKR 80.64 lac span between the cheapest Fortuner and the only one with driver-assistance equipment.
The GR-S also has monotube shock absorbers, which is a handling and control change rather than a safety feature, and a 9-inch floating display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Toyota's specification sheet for the Fortuner does not print an airbag count, so none is asserted here. Ask the dealer to confirm it in writing before buying - this site does not publish a number the manufacturer has not published.
On a body-on-frame SUV with 279 mm of ground clearance, the dynamic limits are different from a crossover's: a higher centre of gravity means stability control earns its place, and it is fitted to every variant.
Pakistan has no NCAP programme, so the vehicle sold here carries no independent crash rating.

Petrol or diesel Fortuner?
The 2.8 diesel is more economical, stronger for towing and load, and what most Pakistani buyers choose. The 2.7 petrol V is PKR 36 lacs cheaper than the diesel Sigma 4 and avoids diesel servicing and fuel-quality concerns, at a cost of roughly one km/l.
What is the fuel average of the Toyota Fortuner?
Owners record about 8.0 km/l in the city and 10.5 on the highway from the 2.7 petrol G, and about 8.5 and 11.0 from the 2.8 diesel. The 4x4 petrol V is projected at about 7.6 and 10.0.
What is the difference between the Fortuner Legender and GR-S?
Both are 2.8 diesel 4x4s with the same engine and gearbox. The GR-S adds Gazoo Racing Sport specification - monotube shock absorbers, 265/60 R18 black-tinted machine-cut alloys - and the driver-assistance equipment: a panoramic view monitor, blind spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert. It costs PKR 9.3 lacs more and comes only in black or white.
How much ground clearance does the Fortuner have?
279 mm, the most of any Toyota sold in Pakistan.
How many seats does the Toyota Fortuner have?
Seven, on every variant, with 716 litres of load space.
How many airbags does the Toyota Fortuner have?
Toyota's specification sheet does not print an airbag count for the Fortuner, so this site does not state one. Ask the dealer to confirm it in writing.

3 years or 100,000 km, whichever comes first, with extended options available.
