Toyota Hilux Revo 2026 pros & cons

✓ What we like

  • Unmatched aftersales reach - Indus Motor has the deepest 3S network in Pakistan and Revo parts are available in essentially every city
  • Genuine body-on-frame 4x4 with real low-range capability, high ground clearance and an 80-litre tank, suited to northern mountain roads and unmetalled rural tracks
  • Diesel running costs and torque - the 2.8's 500 Nm makes it usable fully loaded, and diesel is cheaper per litre than petrol in Pakistan
  • Exceptionally strong resale value, better than almost anything else in its price class here
  • Load and towing ability no crossover SUV in the price range can match, giving it dual use as a family and working vehicle
  • A broad trim spread from a plain fleet vehicle to the fully equipped GR-S, from a single service network

✕ What we don't like

  • The platform dates to 2015. In 2026 buyers pay Rs 1.14 to 1.58 crore for a decade-old design with an interior and infotainment generations behind the Korean SUVs at similar money
  • Leaf-sprung rear suspension gives a firm, bouncy ride when the bed is empty - the single most common real-world complaint, at a luxury vehicle's price
  • Poor fuel economy for the money. Owner-reported averages of 8 to 11 km/l in the city are roughly half what a Tucson Hybrid returns, and the GR-S is worst in the range
  • Prices have escalated far beyond what the product has changed - no platform, powertrain or cabin update
  • It is about to be superseded. The next-generation Hilux was revealed globally in November 2025, with the resale exposure that implies
  • At over 5.3 m long it is awkward in dense urban Pakistan - narrow lanes, tight parking, limited rear visibility

Toyota Hilux Revo 2026 overview

The Hilux Revo is assembled in Pakistan by Indus Motor Company, which launched it in Karachi on 27 September 2016 with bookings opening that November. The vehicle is the eighth-generation Hilux, introduced globally in 2015 and sold locally under the Revo name. A mid-life update arrived locally in 2021, and the Rocco and GR-S trims followed.

All current Pakistani Revo variants are double-cabin body-on-frame pickups with part-time 4x4; Indus also offers single-cabin Hilux models separately.

The Revo dominates Pakistan's double-cabin pickup segment. Its buyers are a mix of private owners using it as a large family and intercity vehicle, agricultural and construction users, fleet and government buyers, and northern-areas tourism operators. Direct new-vehicle competition is thin - the Isuzu D-Max is the main local rival.

The important structural fact for 2026 is that the Pakistani Revo is now a decade-old design. Toyota revealed the all-new next-generation Hilux globally in November 2025 with 48V mild-hybrid and battery-electric options. Indus Motor has announced no timeline for bringing it to Pakistan.

Latest updates

Engine and performance

All current Pakistani Revo variants are diesel. The core engine is Toyota's 2.8-litre 1GD-FTV common-rail turbodiesel (2,755 cc), rated at 150 kW with 500 Nm on automatic variants and 420 Nm on the six-speed manual. Transmissions are a six-speed manual on the Revo G manual and Hilux E, or a six-speed automatic on the rest. The GR-S runs a higher state of tune at about 201 hp and 500 Nm. Drive is part-time 4x4 with low range on the Revo variants. No petrol, CNG or hybrid Revo is offered locally.

Fuel economy

Owner data shows roughly 8 to 11 km/l in the city and 11 to 13 on the highway. By variant, the Revo V automatic is the most efficient at about 12 km/l average, the Revo G and Hilux E manual sit around 11, and the GR-S is thirstiest at about 9.5. Owners commonly report 10 to 12 km/l in mixed use. Loaded running, 4x4 use and northern-areas driving push figures toward the bottom of these ranges.
